THE FIRST CALDERÓN

These studies all respond to the same purpose: that of outlining with the greatest precision and greatest possible nuance the vision of the world that, in my opinion, globally informs the theater of the playwrights of the second quarter of the 16th century. To do this, I chose, from the perspective of the dramatic genres practiced by Calderón, to organize these studies into three sectors, namely: tragic theater, comic theater and, united by their (relative) brevity in relation to the ordinary extension of comedies, sacramental theater and minor theater.
