Without forgetting the publications that crowd university shelves, there is still room to delve into specific aspects of the past. Within the broad political landscape, festivals, memorials, celebrations, and demonstrations offer their own perspective. From a purely political perspective—official or designed from above—this "festive" ensemble corroborates the efforts of those who governed to take over, or at least attempt to, this part of society. The new leaders sought to mold the previous reality to adapt it to their ideology. The festivals and commemorations reflect this, drawing a red line for their adversaries: the old ones return to the ark of oblivion, and the new ones—a sign of the regime they serve—must struggle to establish their place. The reader will see that, even under opposing political regimes, their rulers, when sailing the festive sea, never let go of the helm, closely monitoring or imposing the patriotic itinerary on the entire society. The new calendars mark this dependence, as well as the "going out onto the streets" in other demonstrations.
