Synopsis

his book reviews and analyzes, from new perspectives, the historical and artistic panorama of Segovia in the Late Middle Ages (13th-15th centuries). The aim is to highlight the historical importance and tangible heritage of the city of Segovia and its surroundings during the final three centuries of the Middle Ages, both as a courtly space and as an artistic and religious focal point. The book explores the ties between the various members of the court and the city, Segovia's late medieval artistic heritage and the construction processes of some of its main buildings, the liturgical reform in the episcopal sphere, and the relationships between the powerful and the monasteries and religious figures of Segovia and its surroundings. The integration processes of Mudejars and Jews in Segovia, as well as the conflicts between these two religious minorities in the city, are also the subject of study.
