Synopsis

After completing the Master's Degree in Conflict Resolution at the University of Valladolid, I have realized that throughout my professional career as a civil servant belonging to different administrative bodies of the Regional Government of Castile and León, I have unwittingly carried out conciliations, arbitrations, and mediations, representing one of the parties involved in the conflict. Thus, I began conducting conciliations between individuals, resolving, for example, property disputes between two parties: an individual and an administration, in the case of communal forests, the local government, or, in the case of livestock trails, the Regional Government of Castile and León itself. When an agreement was reached, both parties signed a memorandum of understanding. I later went on to process, among other matters, disciplinary proceedings in various matters. In these cases, I have participated in arbitration, as I was the third party who imposed the "award," sanctioning one of the parties when another filed a complaint. This award ended up being a resolution that either imposed a sanction or not. And finally, I've learned to resolve conflicts between people in the workplace, both in relation to problems that arise between colleagues and those that arise with administrators, and I apply solutions through mediation. Thanks to this experience, I have completed a general study of the various methods of extrajudicial conflict resolution used in the "company" where I work, the Administration of the Community of Castile and León, which I hope will be useful one day.
