The novel Cuidadora introduces us to a new and original author who tackles a highly relevant topic: that of caregivers. Care is presented as the most radical expression of dissent, a political, revolutionary, and anti-productivist act capable of unsettling capitalism. Through a polyhedral narrative, the main character connects us with sub-histories, meta-histories, ideas, and concepts that ultimately lead to a true descent into hell in a cathartic way. Cuidadora is a work full of references—fragmentary and resilient—capable of engaging with the problems of contemporary society, making us participants in the tension and anguish provoked by the tasks of caring for dependent individuals. The author draws on narrative, lyrical, and scientific texts to construct a literary landscape with multiple layers, resulting in a unique, thought-provoking, and bold work.
