The archaeological excavation at the Bronze Age site of Carrecastro, carried out in response to the construction of a wind farm, has produced an extensive and varied archaeological record of the Cogotas I cultural horizon, opening the door to new approaches to its archaeological interpretation. Beyond the stratigraphic findings, this publication includes a range of analytical studies that offer highly relevant insights into matters such as the paleoenvironment, trade networks, and technologies applied to ceramic production, among others.
As a result of the research carried out following the excavation, this study offers a comprehensive overview of the Bronze Age that transcends purely material archaeological evidence, introducing social perspectives that contribute a renewed understanding of this period of Late Prehistory in the central Iberian Peninsula.
