THE SECRET ARCHIVES OF EL NORTE DE CASTILLA. Censorship files in the General Archive of the Administration (AGA) (1966-1976)

This work reveals, for the first time, the censorship files received by the newspaper El Norte de Castilla between 1966 and 1976. These files, held in the General Archive of the Administration (AGA) in Alcalá de Henares (Spain), originated from the Ministry of Information and Tourism pursuant to Law 14/1966 of March 18, on Press and Printing. They comprise both public dossiers (known to the newspaper at the time) and secret dossiers, subject to the Official Secrets Act, which have remained unpublished until now. Their transcription allows us to understand the protocol of actions and the machinery of censorship, from the initial complaint regarding the publication of an article to the final resolution of the case. The second part of the work includes a rich appendix section with the newspaper's front pages and cited pages, as well as the secret "red" dossier archived in the AGA.
