Rethinking school playgrounds. Multisensory installations for early childhood education

The project presented below focuses on the design, creation, and development of multisensory art installations on the La Yutera de Palencia campus of the University of Valladolid. Each of the proposals analyzed was created by students majoring in Artistic Expression and Communication and Motor Skills in their final year of the Early Childhood Education Degree.
The projects collaborated on its development were the teaching innovation projects Inclusive Experimental Model Classroom for the areas of Expression in Education Degrees (AMEI) and UVamusEA. A university-museum collaboration project on arts education. The R&D project PID2021-128645OB-I00 “Transversality, Creativity, and Inclusion in School Music Projects: An Evaluative Investigation” (TCIEM), funded by the Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation, also collaborated.
This publication brings together the installation projects carried out by students of the specialization during the 2023-24 and 2024-25 academic years. The texts included offer students an exceptional opportunity to present and disseminate the work developed during their final year of academic training.
The proposal is part of an interdisciplinary project that brings together the areas of Musical, Plastic, and Physical Expression Teaching at the Faculty of Education in Palencia. The subjects involved are put at the service of an interdisciplinary activity.
