Synopsis

Fermín Herrero (1963) is a native of Ausejo de la Sierra, Soria.

He received the 2014 Castile and León Literature Prize for his entire body of work and the Castile and León Critics' Prize for his book Gratitude, which had previously won the Gil de Biedma Prize. The core of his lyrical work, comprising around twenty books, several of which have won some of the most prestigious awards in contemporary poetry, has been published by the Madrid-based publisher Hiperión. Among these is Sin ir más lejos (Without Going Any Further), winner of the Jaén Prize and, subsequently, the National Critics' Prize.

His latest book is Estancia de la plenitud (Station of Fullness) (Pre-Textos), and his most recent anthology is Poesías familiares y domésticas (Familiar and Domestic Poems) (Difácil). His essay La belleza de la poesía (The Beauty of Poetry), closely related in its origins to this book, will soon be published by Eolas.

He has collaborated in literary and thought magazines such as “Archipiélago”, “El Ciervo” or “Turia” and currently does so in ABC de Castilla y León.
