Books Published in This Series

The Communication series of Ediciones Universidad de Valladolid brings together works by experts in all areas related to this field of knowledge, such as journalism, audiovisual communication, the internet and social networks, photography, advertising, journalistic language, media research, among others. The series also includes works on communication from a multidisciplinary perspective, including history, sociology, political science, economics, or anthropology, among others.

This series welcomes monographs derived from unpublished research, essays, textbooks, or works aimed at disseminating scientific knowledge.

BRIEF CURRICULUM VITAE OF VIRGINIA MARTÍN JIMÉNEZ

Virginia Martín Jiménez is Associate Professor in the Area of Journalism at the University of Valladolid (UVa, Spain). She holds a PhD from the University of Valladolid, with European Doctorate and Extraordinary Award, and has extensive interdisciplinary training in Journalism, History, Political Science, and Sociology.

She is founder and principal investigator of the Recognized Research Group on History and Media (HISMEDIA) at the University of Valladolid and coordinates the Teaching Innovation Group on Equality and Gender Inclusion linked to the Gender Studies Chair at UVa.

She has numerous publications, including books, book chapters, and journal articles, and has participated in several national R&D projects related to her research specialization in media and history—especially in Television Studies—and in the relationship between media discourse and politics.

Dunia Etura holds a PhD in Journalism, recipient of the Extraordinary Doctorate Award from the University of Valladolid and the Clara Campoamor Award 2018 for doctoral theses in Humanities, Law, or Social Sciences. She holds degrees in Journalism and in Theory of Literature and Comparative Literature from the University of Valladolid and a Master’s in Communication Research as a Historical-Social Agent from the same institution.

Since 2021, she has held various administrative roles: Vice Dean of Communication and University Outreach of the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters, Vice Dean of Students of the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters, and, since 2018, Representative of the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters in the Equality Network.

She is a professor in the Area of Journalism. Member of the Gender Studies Chair at UVa and of the Feminist Research Institute of the Complutense University of Madrid, member of the Teaching Innovation Group on Equality and Gender Inclusion, and member of the Recognized Research Group on History and Media (HISMEDIA).

Her research interests include television studies, both historical and current cases related to television innovation, social networks and their impact, and communication in relation to equality and gender-based violence.

SCIENTIFIC COMMITTEE: COMPOSITION AND FUNCTIONS

The Scientific Committee is responsible for proposing manuscripts for potential publication, providing assessments of manuscripts submitted to the series, recommending specialists to produce the required preliminary reports, and advising and collaborating with the series editors on scientific matters as needed. EDITORIAL POLICY

The purpose of this series is to provide the scientific community and society at large with access to knowledge and research conducted by specialists in the field of Communication.

Published works display the series logo and follow a graphic style specifically designed in collaboration with the editorial team of Ediciones Universidad de Valladolid.

The Scientific Committee is composed of experts from various fields related to Communication, both nationally and internationally.

The series includes works produced at the University of Valladolid as well as at other national and international research centers. Subject to available funding for translation and editing rights, the series may also publish translations of works of particular relevance in the field of Communication.

CODE OF CONDUCT

This book series adheres to the Good Practice Guidelines of Ediciones Universidad de Valladolid, which follow the principles of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). The Good Practice Guidelines set out the ethical procedures expected of authors, editorial boards, and reviewers. All parties are requested to follow the relevant sections of these guidelines.

AUTHOR GUIDELINES, MANUSCRIPT SELECTION PROCESS AND REASONED COMMUNICATION OF DECISIONS

This series follows the editorial criteria established by Ediciones Universidad de Valladolid, available at the following link: https://www.publicaciones.uva.es/index.php/eduva/about/submissions.

Manuscripts received are initially reviewed by the series editors and selected members of the editorial committee. Once verified that they align with the editorial line of the series and meet formatting guidelines, selected manuscripts are sent for double-blind peer review.

A manuscript will only be accepted for publication if it receives favorable reviews. Authors will receive a reasoned notification of the decision, whether positive or negative.
