Fastiginia
Books Published in This Series
Fastiginia is a series created in 2009 to publish original and unpublished studies and editions of literary works from the Spanish Golden Age. Its name, taken from the remarkable work by the Portuguese Pinheiro da Veiga — who recorded his daily experiences at the Valladolid court of Philip III in 1605 — evokes one of the most brilliant literary periods in history, when the city on the banks of the Pisuerga was home to figures such as Cervantes, Quevedo, and Góngora.
DIRECTOR OF THE SERIES
Germán Vega García-Luengos (University of Valladolid, german.vega@uva.es).
Born in León, he is Full Professor of Spanish Literature at the University of Valladolid. His research focuses on medieval and Golden Age literature, with a particular specialization in classical theatre, on which he has published more than 150 studies related to the recovery of texts, reception, and historical and literary implications. Among his contributions are the discovery of new critical sources, including previously unknown plays by Calderón, Alarcón, Vélez, Mira, Rojas, among others. From the beginning of his research career, he has devoted special attention to issues of authorship attribution, approached through bibliographical and philological tools, now also incorporating stylometric analysis. Founder of the "Olmedo Clásico" Festival in 2006, he has served as co-director of all fourteen editions held to date. He directs the large-scale Teatro Clásico Español (TCE) portal of the Cervantes Virtual Library, as well as others dedicated to playwrights and theatrical collections. He has led numerous research projects, conferences, and doctoral programs. He coordinates two series dedicated to the Spanish Golden Age: Fastiginia and Olmedo Clásico. He is Honorary President of AITENSO and a member of the editorial boards of various publishers and journals.

EDITORIAL POLICY
The aim of the series is to provide rigorous studies on topics, figures, and works of interest within Spanish Renaissance and Baroque literature. The series is also open to the publication of critical editions of valuable but previously unknown texts from both periods, accompanied by corresponding studies and annotations. The double-blind peer review of submitted manuscripts by specialists external to the University of Valladolid guarantees the quality of the volumes, which are intended to appear at a rate of at least one or two per year. The carefully designed volumes, with hard covers and special paper, reflect materially the value of their scholarly content.
